THE MOST DECORATED, MOST INVESTIGATED COP IN AMERICA

I met Lozada when I was hired by Movie Mogul - Jerry Bruckheimer to write a movie about his Police exploits with the San Francisco Police Department. The tag line was “America’s Most Decorated, Most Investigated Cop” and it always got a laugh. What Hollywood wanted was a shoot’em up, karate-kicking, car chase, all of which Lozada delivers and more, but a cartoon portrait no longer cuts it. He’s been in Officer-Involved Shootings, made some of the biggest busts, and gotten his ass busted for it every time. A divisive figure, Kool Kat as he was known on the street, was a first-generation hip-hop Cop who was loved and hated, both on the Force and in the Community. He took on the old boy network with his street cred, flashy clothes, slang, tattoos, and gutsy arrests. Nothing came without a consequence, even the medals. Police Star 187, later assigned to him, became controversial, to say the least. This book tells of a true-to-life portrait of Lozada. It’s as real as it gets. A Defense Attorney referred to him as, “No Peer - No Parallel”. What most Cops fear the most, it’s usually their own Department. Add a little City Politics and Police Corruption, you’re now in the world of Officer 1-Eight-7. The job is impossible, but when you have GOD riding shotgun with you, all along the way. You just can’t lose. His upbringing as a youth gave him the tools to survive in a thankless society, especially as a Cop. Being a Christian gave Lozada a purpose, it became his lifestyle.
